auf dem bandcamp-blog gibt es immer mal wieder thematische beiträge, die überraschend kenntnisreich und spannend geschrieben sind und mit den eingeschobenen musikbeispielen eine seltene anschaulichkeit entwickeln. der neuste handelt vom new yorker wordsound-label, das in den 90ern den boden für viele bassbetonte und experimentelle styles bereitet hat und mit s.h. „skiz“ fernando jr. eine sowohl charismatische als auch überaus produktive persönlichkeit als kopf hatte. sowohl auf die kollaboration mit bill laswell als auch auf eine auswahl aus den unzähligen veröffentlichungen wird eingegangen – eine kleine, aber äusserst spannende musikgeschichtslektion also, die der new yorker illbient-institution gerecht zu werden versucht.

schon zum achten mal findet in der schweiz das kleine, aber unglaublich feine norient musikfilm festival statt – diesmal ergänzt durch die ausstellung „seismographic sounds – visionen einer neuen welt„, die schon in aarau, karlsruhe, berlin, bellinzona und mailand gastierte.

das festival zeigt neun ausgewählte und hochaktuelle dokumentarfilme über musik in aller welt sowie zwei kurzfilmprogramme. dazu kommen performances, konzerte und ein underground-basar, in dem kontakte geknüpft und gepflegt sowie viele musikalische perlen entdeckt werden können.
